Seattle City Council is planning sweeping budget cuts. Seattle’s “socialist” mayor Katie Wilson is planning $68 million in cuts to housing, while giving a $68 million INCREASE to the police. She is cutting tens of millions from maintenance, transit, food programs, and other public services. She is proposing no new taxes on the rich, despite Amazon’s profits tripling in the last five years, to $77 billion.

Seattle has the highest combined sales tax of any city in the country. Despite this, the all-Democrat City Council voted to raise the sales tax further, and raised utility rates for Seattle City Light by 9.5% each year for the next two years. Working people have no more money left to give, but the Democratic Party is determined to make us pay. We need a mass mobilization of workers to stop these cuts.

We demand:

• NO cuts to public services!
• NO layoffs for city workers!
• NO budget increase for SPD!
• NO more sales taxes, property taxes, utility taxes, traffic/parking fee increases, or other levies on working class people!
• Tax the rich to fund essential services!
